GREAT HELP 27 OUT OF THEM..................

1. You are task to define ip addressing scheme. How would you
determine the Number of netIDs to arrive to the appropiate subnet
mask. Choose two

a subnet
b. one for each nic on the host computer
c. routers interface'
d. wan connection
e. nic of every host id

Ans: B,C

There were two questions on the same senario:

2. Karen wants to install a Windows NT Server computer with four
network adapter cards on her TCP/IP network. This server will act
as a router.
Required result:
The server must route TCP/IP packets.(enable ip forwarding)

Optional desired results:
The server should dynamically update its routing tables when other
routers are added
to or removed from the network.(install rip for ip)
The server should provide IP addresses to every client computer on
each subnet.(dbcp)
All the computer must be able to browse all the subnets(wins)

Proposed solution:
Assign one IP address to each network adapter card on the server.
enable ip forwarding.
Install DHCP Relay Agent.

a) Produces the required result and all of the optional desired
results.
b) Produces the required result and only two of the optional
desired results.
c) Produces the required result and only.
d) Proposed solution does not produce the required result.

Ans: C
---- CAUSE THERE IS NO DHCP AND WINS SERVER NEITHER
RIP FOR IP IS CONFIGURED

3.Karen wants to install a Windows NT Server computer with four
network adapter cards on her TCP/IP network. This server will act
as a router.

Required result:
The server must route TCP/IP packets.(enable ip forwarding)

Optional desired results:
The server should dynamically update its routing tables when other
routers are added
to or removed from the network.(install rip for ip)
The server should provide IP addresses to every client computer on
each subnet.(dbcp)
The server should send trap messages across the network to a UNIX
server.(snmp server manager on unix and snmp services on nt server)

Proposed solution:
Assign one IP address to each network adapter card on the server.
enable ip forwarding.
Install DHCP Relay Agent.

a) Produces the required result and all of the optional desired
results.
b) Produces the required result and only two of the optional
desired results.
c) Produces the required result and only.
d) Proposed solution does not produce the required result.

Ans:C
------- CAUSE THERE IS NO SNMP CONFIGURED OR DHCP IS
CONFIGURED NOR RIP FOR IP IS INSTALLED.

4. Good old Fred is still managing a network that is comprised of
four Windows NT Server computers, 80 Windows NT Workstation
computers, 100 Windows 95 computers and eleven UNIX computers.
Because his company frequently reorganizes, Fred often finds
himself physically moving computers from one subnet to another.
Only the UNIX computers never move. TCP/IP is the network's
primary protocol. The UNIX computers have no hostnames that are
longer than fifteen characters, and each hostname contains only
alphanumeric characters. One of the Windows NT Server computers
runs DHCP with one scope configured for each subnet. All of the
Windows-based computers are set up as DHCP clients.

Required results:

Every Windows-based computer on each subnet must be able to access
the Windows
NT Server computers by computer name.(WINS)
Every Windows-based computer on each subnet must also be able to
receive
its IP addresses from the DHCP server.(INSTALL DHCP)

Optional desired results:

All UNIX systems should access by hostname any Windows NT Server
computer
that is set up as an FTP server.(DNS)
All Windows-based computers should access by hostname any UNIX
computer
that is set up as a Telnet or FTP server.(HOST FILE ENTER UNIX
HOST)

Proposed solution:

Set up the network routers to forward DHCP broadcasts to all
subnets.
Install a WINS Server on the network.
Set up the DHCP server to supply all DHCP clients with the IP
address of the WINS server.
On the DHCP server, exclude the IP addresses of the UNIX computers
from the scopes. Create a client reservation for the IP address of
the WINS server.
On each one of the windows machines create a HOSTS file with
entries for all the UNIX machines.

Which results does the proposed solution produce?

a) The proposed solution produces the required results and both of
the optional desired results.
b) The proposed solution produces the required results and only
one of the optional desired results.
c) The proposed solution produces the required results and none of
the optional desired results.
d) The proposed solution does not produce the required results.

Answer : B
Cause DNS IS NOT INSTALLED FOR THE UNIX COMPUTERS TO
COMUNICATE WITH THE NETWORK

5. You want the workstations to print jobs at the unix connected
print device.and you want the jobs to be mannaged by the nt server
How will you configure?choose the best answer.
a)install tcpip print services
b)install lpd on the print device attaced (some thing like that)
c) some shit
d)assine a port to divert the print jobs to print device

Ans: a
because i had to choose the best if i had to
choose two then the answer would have been like below. d is not
correct cause first you have to install tcp\ip print service.then
assigne a port for the print jobs to diverted
if the question would have been unix want to print on nt server
print device then the options you will have to chouse would be
INSTALL TCP/IP PRITING SERVICE (On the server)
AND SHARE THE PRINTER.

6. One exabit showing a picture of big domain with two subnets and
your sitting on the system wkst1 and try connecting to a remote
system marketing sucessfully and you try to connect a system on
your subnet named corp you are not sucessfull.

Ans:
invalid subnet mask on your system

7. You have 1 DNS Server. You want to minimize static entries by
using WINS to resolve FQDN for non-
Microsoft Clients
a.on WINS server,enable DNS resolution
b.On DNS server,enable WINS Lookup
c. On all clients, Select WINS to be the first for resolution
answer : b

8. Suppose the following situation exists:
Karen wants to install a Windows NT Server computer with four
network adapter cards on her TCP/IP network. This server will act
as a router.

Required result:
The server must route TCP/IP packets.(ENABLE IP FORWARDING)

Optional desired results:
The server should dynamically update its routing tables when other
routers are added
to or removed from the network.(RIP FOR IP)
The server should provide IP addresses to every client computer on
each subnet.(DHCP)
The server should send trap messages across the network to a UNIX
server.(SNMP MANAGER ON UNIX AND SNMP SERVICE ON NT SERVER)

Proposed solution:
Assign one IP address to each network adapter card on the server.
Install WINS services on the server.
Install DHCP services on the server. Create one scope for each
subnet.
Install the SNMP services on the server. Set up SNMP to forward
trap messages to the UNIX server.
Which results does the proposed solution produce?

a) The proposed solution produces the required result and all of
the optional desired results.
b) The proposed solution produces the required result and only two
of the optional desired results.
c) The proposed solution produces the required result and only one
of the optional desired results.
d) The proposed solution does not produce the required result.

Answer : D
cause ipforwarding is not enabled

9. What is the utility to view Cumulative statistics since your
server was booted?

10. I have two questions related to HOSTS files. They are something
like below:

HOSTS file content:
192.2.15.67 test developer.
192.2.15.12 developer.

trying to ftp 192.2.15.12, it connected, but fail when trying to
ftp developer.

ANS:
DNS returns wrong IP address

11. You are brought in as a consultant to set up TCP/IP on a
network of Microsoft Windows-based computers. The network is
comprised of five subnets, each with its own domain controller.
Every host must be able to browse every other computer and perform
peer-to-peer connections. The network must also register and
resolve computer names automatically through a central database.
What is the best choice to install on the network?
a) DHCP servers
b) DNS servers
c) HOSTS files
d) WINS servers
e) The SNMP service on all domain controllers
Answer: d

12.Two DNS servers. You plan to install a third DNS server which
will be used to resolve DNS queries for resource that are located
on the internet.
a) as a primary name server
b) as a secondary name server
c) as a forwarder for the exiting DNS server
d) as a forward for a WINS server..
Answer : c

13. I had a question where there was a an exhibit of the output
from ipconfig all. You had to work out what kind of resolution was
being used from the given information. Output of ipconfig all Ip
address 149.69.69.69 Wins server 149.69.69.100 DNS server address
149.69.69.102 Default gateway 149.69.69.2 Sunnet mask 255.255.0.0
Wins to use DNS resolution : NO Node type : H There was a lot more
info but i cant remember the parameters not important anyway for
this quetsion. Which resolution methods are being used.
A) wins only
B) wins, brodcast and lmhosts
C) dns, wins and lmhosts
D) wins, broadcast, host, dns

Answer : b
as the node type is h wins.brodcast.lmhost

14.one question asking for wins is installed what more is to be
done

Answer :
define the node type (h-node)

15. which brod cast will just look at wins but not give out a brod
cast

Answer :
p-node

16. Had a question where you had to drag and drop the correct
subnet mask for a given ip address and the required number of
subnets... There where 6 subnets to work out .by giving a range of
subnet masks
he game me two class a add two class b and two class c i dont rem
the wole of it sorry.
subnet mask ip address req no of subnets.
subne mask to drag given ip giving req sub.

Ans:
just know your subnetting how many bits for how many subnets here
is some help
JUST REMEMBER WHERE YOU GOT TO PUT THE SUBNET MASK IN CLASS A AND
B AND C ie in class a the second byte is used for subnetting class
b the third byte and class c the fourth byte
NO OF SUBNETS SUBNET MASK THE SUBNET MASK WILL LOOK LIKE
A B C
2 192 255.192.0.0 255.255.192.0 255.255.255.192
6 224 255.224.0.0 255.255.224.0 255.255.255.224

Thats all i remember what you need to do is look for other dumps
on this site and dont waste your time on other sites casue i have
only relied on this site and it has benefited me like any thing .
i pity for any one who knows this site and had failed dont get
afraid by reding that kind of shit of others who have failed i got
question by question from this site except subnetting and there
was nothing on wins push pull and nothing on arp -a 's or d what
ever they all are no mibs just know your subnetting and logic for
what the scenario is and that should be fine so keep up the good
work see you in my next papper ie exchange or iis4 not yet
