Agfa Refinal M
Very high-yield developer/replenisher system
for consistent results in powder form for mechanical negative
development. REFINAL M has a fine-grain balancing effect. Good speed
yield. Virtually indefinite life and yield with very good processing
consistency if properly replenished.
Mixing instructions
Stir Part A into at least 75 % of the total quantity of water needed at
about 40 °C until completely dissolved. Then stir in Part B. After
it has dissolved, top up with water to the final volume. It is not
advisable to weigh part-quantities for smaller volumes, since the
chemicals may have been separated by vibration during transport.
Specific gravities of freshly mixed solutions (at 20
°C)
1.064 - 1.070 = developer
1.072 - 1.078 = replenisher
Developing times
The optimum developing time depends on the printing process used and
the gradation desired. Guiding figures are times between five and seven
minutes (at 20 °C).
Yield
With replenished processes approx. 9 to 12 ml replenisher per film
the yield is virtually unlimited (see "Replenishment of B&W
Developers").
Life
The developer can be kept dry in the original pack at room temperature
for at least two years. Unused developer in brimful tightly capped
bottles will keep for about six months. The life is virtually unlimited
in continuously automatically replenished processes.
